Introducing #Hush, a #psychoacoustic installation designed for instilling calmness and awareness in busy urban centers.

The early prototype uses 2 x Yamaha HS7's. Projecting cones of pinkish noise above and behind the visitor, they create a canopy of calm that settles the nervous system.

My greatest concern is that it'll fail to affect anyone but myself, so I'll probably have to test it out on some live subjects soon. Unnerving.

I spent the better part of today listening to four hours of Éliane Radigue's 'Adnos' for ARP 2500 synthesizer and magnetic tape—while biking around, riding the subway, browsing a bookstore, hunting for mushrooms in the park. I'm not sure I reached enlightenment, but my brains are thoroughly scrambled. No regrets.
