So now I have a Storage Box from #Hetzner mounted to a PBS VPS as a #CIFS mount. This thing works faster than I expected, without issues so far. Will see how it goes.
Also, 1TB for € 3.20 is quite a good price. Cheaper than #Backblaze. And I can mount that storage to #HomeAssistant as a backup target as well.

Das Backup der Services meines 2. Proxmox Cluster Nodes ist heute nicht gelaufen und ich weiß nicht warum.
Ich sehe keine Fehlermeldungen. Der Node ist healthy und alle Services laufen.
Merkwürdig.
Edit: Heute schon wieder.
A 1TiB VM with ~730GiB in use restored over the network from our primary #ProxmoxBackupServer in 14 mins flat.
At that speed it doesn't matter that we've lost the ability to restore individual MySQL/MariaDBs direct into the original system's mysqld like we could with CDP - setting aside that feature being buggy as all hell, I can just restore the whole VM, start it with no network, and export/dump whatever I want to a vDisk and then move that to the production VM.
Wanted to install a #ProxmoxBackupServer today.
Fetched an unused Asus PN40 with 8GB RAM and a 1TB SSD..which should be more than enough.
Only to find the SSD went defect in the 2yrs it spent in a closet.
Looked at the SSD prices and sighed.
Eff AI.
