Okay, I'm asking the Mastodon Hivemind something. It concerns GNU/Linux (specifically Debian), Signal Messenger, and Proton VPN.
Edit: Somehow fixed by changing the VPN server _on the router_ (which passes through the desktop untouched...supposedly). I don't get it.

Did @signalapp stop working for anyone else on desktop through @protonprivacy VPN? I tried a few different servers (all plus) and anything other than messages to myself doesn't go through (it just sits there spinning until I turn off the VPN).

I've always known proton ain't as hell anonymous. Sure they're more private but people should do more research about them and especially their past. Y'know, background check !
They'd still bend to the law and it's quite misleading they promote the VPN that you can "use the web anonymously". I found that line when I did an inspect element on the proton dot me site. Idk.
