I wish #ProtonMail would sync files to its Proton Drive on Linux distros, same as I used to in my Windows. It's a good alternative for OneDrive, and it's free. I only need 5GB max.

I've been reading about #NextCloud but I don't want to pay something like £10 a month.

Mooi, compleet overzicht. Naast dat al 2 vd 3 Apple #MacBooks met #Linux ipv #MacOS, voor mij geldt - op dezelfde basis met daarbij al vele jaren Google vrij - praktisch hetzelfde verhaal met als aanvulling: van #Signal naar #DeltaChat; van iCloud Drive naar #Filen_Storage en #Proton_Mail; als browser #Mullvad en zoekmachine #Qwant. Verder ‘voorspoedige voortzetting van je reis’ en hou ons op de hoogte.

Vroeger hadden we #deleteFacebook #deleteMeta #deleteWhatsApp en noem maar op. Sommigen gaven daar even gehoor aan om later toch stilletjes terug te keren naar Big Tec. Nu werden velen even wakker geschud door onze afhankelijkheid van Amerikaanse Big Tec en komt er weer een #doeidag en andere varianten op gang. Wat ik merk is dat veel mensen bang zijn voor dat wat ze niet kennen en daarom niet (geheel) durven over te stappen. (sommigen interesseerd het gewoon geen reet en is gemak het enige dat telt) Eventuele angst is ongegrond en als we met heel Europa massaal overstappen is de macht van Big Tec snel gebroken en verloopt de ontwikkeling van alternatieven veel soepeler en sneller.

Gave Standard Notes a quick look, but it's too basic and limited to justify paying a subscription. I would rather have Craft for the same price. There also seems to be no trial period. Every second click you should pay for something - unlikely when you cannot even try the most basic features. No Markdown, no tabs, not very intuitive. It's way behind the competition. It might make sense as a free add-on for paying Proton users. #secondbrain #notes #standardnotes #proton_mail
