KenNow this is how you do a protected bike lane/sidewalk combination. No rubber bumpers or plastic posts for "protection" like we usually see in the US. Here we have nice ground pavers for both bikes and pedestrians, a decorative railing separating the bike lane from cars, and a beautiful landscaped divider between the bike lane and sidewalk featuring trees and bushes contained within a cut-stone base.

😀🚲Wir haben gestern 3031 Unterschriften für einen Einwohnerantrag für geschützte Radfahrstreifen in #Karlsruhe an unseren Baubürgermeister Daniel Fluhrer übergeben. Der Antrag fordert die Verwaltung auf, beim Neu- und Umbau von Hauptverkehrsstraßen, die Anlage geschützter Radfahrstreifen zu prüfen. Der Gemeinderat muss jetzt über die Zulässigkeit und den Antrag selbst entscheiden. #ProtectedBikeLanes #geschutzteRadwege
