Project Idea: Mastodon/Fediverse client for more intentional consumption. The idea is, to pick a time each day/week/month, open the application and see what's been going on since you last checked. For example, showing the posts most boosted by people you follow, the hashtags they used most, all posts from certain lists.
Probably a desktop app. I would have looked at https://tauri.app/.

Invention idea: array of microphones on the outside of the house connected to speakers on the inside of my office, which work like noise cancelling headphones but with spatial sound... enhanced neighborhood awareness, bringing the sound of everything outside inside when the windows are shut ;-)

This is really fascinating, and does seem like a cool little project to look into, I've been fascinated by how regexes work for a long time, they always kind of feel like magic, and this article seems like a really fun jumping off point to maybe actually implement at least a simplified one for fun.

I just found out that there are building instructions out there how to build such a clock yourself - the source code is here https://github.com/akafugu/vetinari_clock
But it made me think: why don't we have a kernel patch that does this? Anyway I'm now reading up on the /dev/rtc class, NTP and PTP, wondering what would be funnier to do.
