We were mid-way through the 2008 salmon season. The fleet was lined up for sets somewhere in Prince William Sound. Barwell, the tender boat, was offloading. Rather than drop the anchor between sets, most boats preferred to tie up alongside another anchored vessel. Clustered seiners formed mechanical islands on the calm water.

Prince William Sound is ringed by the Chugach Range.
