To follow up with Ghibli, two days later, we've seen "Princess Mononoke" (1997). It's a superb experience, but it is different from all the other Ghibli movies so far, because the main character is not a child; as a matter of fact, there are no children here at all. And that made the flow a bit different. And, just like "Castle in the Sky," players of "The Legend of Zelda" will feel like at home: especially Irontown is like villages from "Breath of the Wild."
The last few shots of chibi San on the wolf.
I had to find some "anime eyes" tutorials online for this model, and I'm pleased with the result for both of them.
I then put in as much effort to the blending of the wolf's white "fur" to make it perfect.

Another eraser carving experiment: I drew a stylized version of the mask from Princess Mononoke in Inkscape, painted the eraser blue to better see where I had carved, then transferred a laser print of it to the eraser with acetone. I did pretty much all of the carving with the lino knife this time. I think it came out pretty well!
