Given the media’s track record with the couple, it is worth remembering that the same media ecosystem that spent years attacking them, minimising their security concerns, and casting doubt on their children, is now presenting this as a heartwarming reconciliation. The timing may be convenient, but the story itself appears to have traction, though the true motivations behind the leak remain unclear.

The Palace treated the Sussex children’s titles as negotiable, even as it granted others without question, exposing the double standard at the heart of the institution. Yet now the press wants us to believe he is a loving grandfather desperate for a reunion. The palace stripped Harry of his security while quietly covering Andrew’s accommodation and security costs. The double standard speaks for itself.

If Charles meets his grandchildren, that is his privilege, but the press should not sell it as a heartwarming reunion at Harry and Meghan’s expense.
