Average Punk Rock LoserI have been experiencing something interesting since I got this shirt. I keep forgetting about it after it happens. However, recently I wore it two days in a row and in those two days received effusive compliments on it thrice from middle aged cishet appearing white male presenting people. And twice followed it up with a sort of solidarity nod, presumably to suggest that they weren't what they appeared, but definitely that they weren't the sort of person that people who look like them often are.
I often feel some trepidation when I openly wear rainbows and pride things, but this was some extra encouragement to continue to do so anyway. I really appreciated this as a nice easy way for people to signal to me that they were safe and supportive.
I was reminded to post this after seeing @troublewithwords 's post about a successful compliment to a stranger and thought they might appreciate this too.
