In this month in 1539...
Manco Inca ruled the Neo-Inca State with his sister-wife Curi Ocllo.
Viewed as rebels by the Spanish, Curi was captured and in November 1539 was stripped, beaten, then tied to a post and shot to death with arrows by indigenous allies of the Spanish.
Francisco Pizarro’s cousin reported that she was blameless and was killed without consideration.
