Visiting a friend in Winnipeg. We went out to Beaudry Provincial Park, west of the city, where there is some very interesting tall grass prairie being restored. One of the flowers, new to me, was closed gentian. Magnificent.

My Meadow Blazing Star (Liatris ligulistylis), one of our native pollinator friendly plants, has gone to seed. I have collected some, and am leaving the rest for the wind and the birds.

Note though that the tufts can cause a bit of an itchy reaction, as I found out, so harvest with gloves if you can.
