I thought I would share a throwback: My print of Manitoba with its provincial animal the bison and flower the prairie crocus (Anemone patens) in this linocut. The block was inked ‘à la poupée’ (with different colours, pale violet, umber and brown, in different areas) and printed by hand on lovely Japanese kozo (or mulberry) paper.

Since it is Solstice, I am posting a picture of the first flowers of spring here on the northern prairies - the Prairie Crocus, Pulsatilla patens. We have some spectacular blooming sites right here in the city.
