Surprisingly the HQ of Makita Hungary is in Székesfehérvár, instead of the capitol, Budapest. So when I registered for the battery redemption promo, they called me to ask, since I live in the city why don't I pop into the HQ and they give me the battery in person, instead of shipping it in 3-5 days. So I did. This is the weirdest support your local dealer situation.

seldom used but one of my favorite power tools hacks. a pleasure each time.

as battery power tools I have Makita. but RYOBI hat this brilliant battery Schuko booster/inverter. so with a "batdapter" (available from/to pretty much any large brands) I get a 150W Makita outlet.
and can use it with light green Bosch tools.

a power outlet pretty much anywhere.

Your Power Tools Got Worse On Purpose | Who Really Owns DeWalt, Craftsman, and Milwaukee?

How TTI and Stanley Black & Decker took the same playbook in opposite directions. One invested $206M in R&D and grew to 4,000 workers. The other is $6 billion in debt and closing its hometown factory.

Oh my dog, this is hilarious. I visited a store selling 18V Bosch cordless tools.

Bosch 18 V 2.5 Ah battery / €69

Compatible All Alliance 18 V 2.5 Ah battery / €39

Out of curiosity and out of my general cheapness I went with a compatible one.

Little did I know that when opening the generic brand package I would end up holding a Bosch branded 2.5 Ah battery. 🤓

There might be somekind of warranty/registering differences*, but basicly the branded Bosch cardboard package is evidently worth 30 euros. Oh my word, I need a drink or at least a Dr Pepper.

*I care too little to look into it.

Ik ging even kijken naar een elektrische snoeischaar. Ze hadden alleen een veel te dure. Kwam thuis met dit ding. Naar sommige winkels mag ik eigenlijk niet. #powertools #heggenschaar

If I ever win big on the lottery I don't care what house I buy. I want a big #workshop. Several big workshops actually. One for #woodwork. One for #metalwork , maybe even a small #forge. A #carlift in a #garage. A #sanding / finishing area for the wood and a #painting / #spraying area too. A big area for stock materials of all kinds too.

All with lots of handy dandy storage for #tools and consumables. Everything from a big #tablesaw to a box of panel pins. Everything in it's place, exactly where it should be.

All the tools would be top quality. As many #powertools as possible would run off compressed air. Does anyone make an air powered #router? Plus battery ones of everything for outdoors. Dust and fume extraction everywhere of course. Compress all the dust into #logs to burn in a stove to keep the place warm

Currently every single time I try to do any #diy I have to clamber into the loft, go to my shed on my allotment or buy stuff that I know I have somewhere but that I can't find right now. I am fed up of it all.

I don't know exactly what I would actually do in my workshop. It's more that I could do anything I wanted with minimal fuss.

Tried to figure out yesterday how to split a 2x4 in half lengthwise without a table saw.

Turns out that my circular saw rip sled goes down to very small dimensions!

Worked perfectly. 🪚
