Following beating Star Wars Dark Forces Remastered, I went back to another Nightdive remaster, Powerslave Exhumed. I guess I hadn't realized how deep I got into it the last time I played as I loaded my save to find I'm on the second to last level with all the transmitter parts for the good ending.

Might as well finish it off before my vacation ends.

Powerslave Exhumed is one of the latest Nightdive remake, and a pleasant surprise. At first I knew it is a familiar game, but I didn't remember the name, that's cause I am from Europe, and the game was titled "Exhumed". However I still remember the red skull on the magazine cover. I think the game lost between Duke Nukem 3D and Quake. It's a unique metroidvenia like fps.

As I heard the Sega Saturn version was the best (the company also did the Duke and Quake port, and the Duke was really nice I saw a video about it), so Nightdive went and mixed the PS and Saturn versions. PC version was mostly just a regular fps made with the Build engine.

It's an Egyptian theme game, and very well worth your time. It's sad that it lost in the tech marvel of Quake and the freedom of Duke, but now at least we can rediscover it via this excellent remake (get on with System Shock guys, before I finish playing that too! hahaha).
