But to go mad with watching, nights and days, To stand in dread of thieves, fires, runaways Who filch and fly, -- in these if wealth consist, Let me rank lowest on the paupers' list. [An vigilare metu exanimem, noctesque diesque formidare malos fures, incendia, servos, ne te conpilent fugientes,…
A quotation from Matthew Henry
His wealth: He was very rich, v. 2. He was very heavy, so the Hebrew word signifies; for riches are a burden, and those that will be rich do but load themselves with thick clay, Hab. ii. 6. There is a burden of care in getting them, fear in keeping them, temptation in using them, guilt in abusing them, sorrow in losing them, and a burden of account, at last, to be given up concerning them. Great possessions do but make men heavy and unwieldy.Matthew Henry (1662-1714) English writer, religious philosopher

No One Is as #Impressed With Your #Possessions as You Are

#narcissism #capitalism #selfcentered
Here’s a hard truth: the car you drive, the house you own, the clothes you wear—they’re a much bigger deal to you than they are to anyone else. That shiny new toy you bought? Most people glance at it for a moment, nod, and then go back to thinking about themselves. Because, let’s be honest, […]
What can I say about #Possessions? Besides the fact that’s the #worst #movie from 2024.
A movie about an #StorageUnit facility that reminds me that #TVshow named #StorageWars.
The only real #horror on this movie is that there’s not good items in the units.
By far the most #uninspired horror movie with generic #PlotTwists and a #crappy ending that I’ve ever seen.
Please do not watch, not even if your life depends on it.
We live in an idiotic capitalist self-indulgent society where the sex life of a pop star is more important than impending starvation, land mines and child soldiers in Africa, or more interesting than the world's biggest man-made natural disaster in oil fields of the Middle East.
