For rail fans I believe the vehicle is a Tatra KT4D. I’ve always liked the idea of public transit making the natural world more accessible to urban dwellers.

I am a massive fan of Frida Kahlo, in fact I have been so ever since I saw the Frida Kahlo biopic back in 2004. I fell in love with her story, her recilience and most of all her gorgeous art. I am a particular fan of her self portraits, which are always so full of life.

I wanted to capture some of that with this painting, rendering this legend in my own style. I used posca markers and a black primed canvas to get make this painting.

Sadly I have to euthanise my 18 year old featherfin catfish on Sunday. I'm not going to say he has a big influence on my day to day, but is odd having him for so long for him now to be gone...
