First time I've grown potatoes & I figured a flower stalk in early potatoes meant it was worth pulling one. I had delusions that they would be especially tender right after harvest. Nah. Entirely unremarkable red potatoes. ...which is actually not bad! Lettuce, spinach, nasturtia, and pansies ("perfect loves" translated from Portuguese) got a boost from store-bought cucumber & crotons. Cocktails used the last of the strawberry syrup from the canning experiment. (Dinner was salmon bowls; nothing homegrown.) I notice that a bad day at work tends to lead to a good evening in the garden! #gardening #garden #horta #porto
