Ok, I finally tried their weird sandwich. I guess, weirder than the last(!) This is that new Dominican (I think) place near Port Authority, Los Munchies.
I think it’s called the Cachapa. Instead of bread, you get two corn pancakes, basically. Then you choose the meat; beef, chicken, pork or mixto, pork & chicken.
It’s pretty much a mozzarepa with lettuce tomato & pork. Would not order again.

42nd at 8th, Northwest corner. That pastry shop on the corner of Port Authority is over my right shoulder. This Aldi’s will be just another block from my Big Apple, where I go daily, it seems.

Got it! The menu shows 3 for $9.50 but it’s just one big one. (Even the guy at the register thought I’d get three.)
I would skip the mayo & ketchup, I did and it was still wet. I regret getting their pink sauce (mayo/ ketchup) on the chimichanga, it was soupy.
Huge bun, long beef sausage, pulled pork. Lettuce, corn, cheese, sauce, and Ruffles (not enough), it was unusual. Maybe get chips or fries.

New neighbor alert! Let’s welcome them *Los Munchies* had to try for the name alone.
They’re 9th just south of 42nd on your way to Port Authority, next to the replacement Philly cheesesteak place.
Hot dogs, empanadas, burgers, tacos, & lots of plantain choices.
I got a chimichanga mixta (chicken-pork), & they gave me a cheese stick cuz it took forever.
The dipping sauces reminded me of a Peruvian place; menu in next post.
