Great video about the current state of polyvagal theory. These conflicts have been known for years, Porges has never seemed interested in responding to the criticism and that should have been a red flag long ago.

None of this has to take away from the positive effects of attachment theory and describing nervous system states. We can enjoy an effect without understanding fully what's happening - yet. I'm sure we'll figure it out eventually. And faster if we can acknowledge what we don't know.

This will certainly be a cosy space with hot drinks and blankets as we hear from Cat about the Polyvagal Theory and explore some ways to support your nervous system how shift out of stuck states - there will be some options to venture outside for nature connection to support our exploration. If the weather is too wet we will bring some nature indoors! Another way to support your nervous system is of course Tension and Trauma Release Exercise TRE - last group session for this year is on Sunday 24th November and individual/ two person sessions available to book on Monday nights. #today I’m daring to hope I can continue to feel as good as I have this afternoon. Walking a little, I was so much more upright, lower back barely bothering me, I felt like I was leaning back. Once my chiropractor cleared stuff, I felt clearer in a grounded way that I have a few times.

The new, simple exercises based on #somatic and #Polyvagal stuff are pretty good, clearing some stuff fast, though I’ve felt awful for a few days too, very tired and low, and flattened with it. But then, better.
