Okay. Everybody's gotta do some neon these days, so here's some neon.

Of two neon signs in Monroe, this is the older of the two and the more difficult to find; in the daytime it looks like it stopped working years ago. But they turn it on every evening (usually very late, as you see). To me it seems as though it was built in the 1930s or 1940s, but that's just a guess based on its design and appearance.

A few months ago, I destroyed my Twitter account. The new owner had just fired two-thirds of his employees for the specific purpose of working the remaining third to death, and I wasn't okay with that. So nowadays, I have a new account on Mastodon ("all tusk, no Musk"). The only weird thing is that the users there place photos under content warnings for ... direct eye contact. Violence I get, hard drugs, maaybe tobacco and pot, but direct eye contact? Well, I'll make sure this photo is properly labeled and obscured when I post it there.

Troll Avenue (Aurora Avenue Overpass), Fremont District, Seattle, WA, USA, March 2023. I was on my way back from that same Seattle Film Club meet when the symmetry of the overpass caught my eye. And because I was concentrating on that symmetry, the Troll himself is only visible as a smudge in the far distance, much like Abraham Lincoln on the back of a U.S. penny.
