Hawaiian Word of the Day: December 11th

Our Hawaiian word for today is a well-known place name on Kauaʻi, Poʻipū. It is often mispronounced because people see the first three letters as a group and pronounce it as they would poi. It means crashing, as in wave action.

Kauai folks, What service do you use for current local weather and/or safest beaches? We arrive to Poipu on Wednesday and the forecast is a bit sad looking.
But I always love the ocean and even rain will be fine. I hope we can still see a few whales!
Any good tips are appreciated.
Mahalo!
