oh man, it took 5 years, $5mn, and they FINALLY re-opened this small dredged boat launch....and it just got filled up with sand immediately. and i don't think there's any more $ to re-open it... and there may be spotted eagle rays that swam into the channel and are now trapped in there.

this is such a hawai'i situation: too little, too late, expensive, and any step forward is immediately reversed. what a facepalm.
