From PCOS to PMOS: What the name change to polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome means for women’s health

PMOS is not primarily a disease of the ovaries. Its new name reflects the condition’s more complex and cyclical endocrine and metabolic features.

Cameras on OnePlus 6T “work” very basically in #pmOS, but terribly. The exact same hardware works extremely well in #UbuntuTouch. I'm supportive of #pmOS and #Mobian but they really don't work as well as #UbuntuTouch on OP6T. I patiently await improvement before I'll be ready to switch fully.

Well I would *prefer* to have a #pmOS phone that *works* (especially the cameras), but until that day arrives I'm very happy with second-hand OnePluses running #UbuntuTouch on Halium, and running very well thanks. It would be nice not to be dependent on the Halium layer, Android drivers etc. But having LineageOS running in a Waydroid container on #UbuntuTouch is also very nice, as it opens up the #fdroid app space and apks too. Linux-only purism isn't very helpful.

A hormonal condition that affects tens of millions of women is being renamed. Here's why that's important | CBC News

After more than a decade of discussion and debate, polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS, will now be called polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, or PMOS. It's hoped the name change will mean earlier diagnosis, an approach toward holistic treatments and more awareness of lesser known symptoms of the chronic hormonal disorder.
