Good morning...
The same plum tree as yesterday but... wait? Are these plum blossoms or cherry blossoms? Yesterday, I swore they were plum blossoms (although they're more of a February thing, but you know nowadays, nature doesn't know when it should do what because of the climate has gone haywire) but now they look like cherry blossoms... But they smell so good... Cherry blossoms don't really smell like anything, do they?

My wife says I know more about animals than I should (but she's Japanese, so nature is not her strong point) but with my botany-fu sure sucks.

I walked about the neighborhood this morning, and a lot of trees were in bloom but none of the cherry trees I'm familiar with...

People living in Japan and sucking less than me with plants, what are those?

The trees in my park have a message for you: Spring is coming!!!!

Picture one: the plum tree, the usual harbinger of Spring, is in full bloom.
Picture two: this young cherry tree may be tiny (less than 1m50 high) but it wants to leave its mark and be the first to bloom, way before its elders (I don't expect them to bloom for another two weeks) Oh well, he won my "first cherry blossom of the year" contest. Congrats to it.
