Piggleston PecanpantsI placed my flea market pliers in some organic rust remover and they came out looking much like they went in, which is much like my old pliers but once I went over them with steel wool, they became more silver. There's a small bit missing but from the left handle but it won't affect their use. I debated giving my original pliers the same treatment but that bronze colour is the patina of my ancestors. Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UKAlso added red aluminium #DSG paddle shifters (replacing the stubby ones that #VW supply as stock), and selector knob with red #GTI pattern stripes. Got a thinner set of needle nose #pliers with serrated edges to yoink out plastic pins in steering wheel that hold the shifters - all the others I had were too wide by about 2mm.
Had to fork out £13 Earth Pounds to Admiral (about £5 was admin fee) to declare these for #insurance purposes - insurers do check for #mods like these, their staff monitor social media as do more observant Police officers from the Roads Policing Unit should they pull you over!
(I sometimes have to use car parks that is popular with "boy racer" types and the old bill keep an eye on these)

These are called maljor in Swedish, and they’re used to lace upp bodices in the folk costume world. I don’t know that wire wrapping is common, mostly it’s pewter or silver casts. But we do have a folkloric tradition of wire work, called luffarslöjd - hobo crafting. With how many different folklore versions that have existed I can’t think this is the strangest there’s ever been. Hell, I even saw someone doing beer can tabs as maljor last week. Creativity, baby!

DanielKnipex Pliers Wrench
One staple in my toolkit and tool roll are the versatile Knipex Pliers Wrenches. With their smooth parallel jaws they can replace every size of spanners - metric and imperial up to their capacity. The smaller wrench from my tool roll is merely 125mm long and can grip up to 25mm or 1" and the bigger one living in my toolbox can manage up to 35mm or 1 3/8". On modern bikes there are mostly bolts with inside hex, but there are still solid use cases for the wrenches:
🔸During the Rookie training of the MTB Club Konstanz I removed a basket off a bike which was fastened with nuts and bolts
🔸Trueing disc brake rotors
🔸Field repair of a dropper post
🔸Opening air chamber of a suspension fork
🔸Countering an end cap on a wheel hub when adjusting the play of the conical bearing
🔸Tightening a valve core
🔸Crimping end cap on shifting cable
🔸Pulling shifting cable tight before fasting it to the derailleur
🔸Pulling foreign objects from tyres
🔸Countering bladed spokes or tightening spoke nipples
🔸opening chain link
🔸 Removing/installing E-clip and safety pins on brake pads
