That was a good waste of $200M. They could have fixed #Destiny2 with that money.

Yeah, I don't think #Marathon is going to survive.

The game bleeds 5K gamers each week, currently 30K average.

It sold 1.2M copies, but for the development cost, I don't think #Bungie will stay past the first expansion, unless they can pull out a Realm Reborn (they won't).

It's obvious that Sony will push #Destiny3 into the studio given this failure.

On average, each copy returns $30 to Sony. If the rumored $250M investment is true, they require over 8M copies to sell to "break even", without microtransactions.

We will see what happens in the coming months if #Sony doubles down, or goes full ahead to #Destiny3.

Seems that #Marathon has found its players and 50K is going to be their ceiling.

I don't know it #Sony is going to take that as a win or a failure, but given how much they poured into #Bungie for this game, I guess the latter.

Games like #ArcRaiders and #Helldivers2 are still going strong, and #CrimsonDesert has 200K players.

Should they stay funding Marathon?

Well, that depends on Sony and their numbers. I don't think having 50K right now in PC is "a success", and less on consoles, given how much they invested.
