Sat down and tried to play piano for the first time in over a decade. Man am I rusty. At least for reading music (and off my cell phone on top of that). But I don't feel discouraged. In the course of an hour, a lot came back and my hands still move almost as they should. Excited to see how I'll progress over the next couple weeks before I have to give the keyboard back.

Played music with my friends last night. Often there were extended jams at the ends of a song. It’s hard to find words for how joyous this intense and ephemeral listening and responding is. This resets my soul and heart in the most exquisite way.

At one point we transitioned from playing “One” right into “Low Spark” … oh my …

We’ve been playing music together every couple of weeks for almost 20 years.

I’m playing a saxophone, clarinet, or harmonica.
