to get to sleep the other day i imagined the opening film sequence for Iain M Banks's #PlayerOfGames and that led me to re-read it. (Spoiler: it is good.)

After that I figured I'd use my literary momentum to read something fancy, which is why I am now burrowing through #WarAndPeace

I'm about halfway through book 1 and so far Leo Tolstoy seems really intent on describing everybody's upper lips. @lizzard says this is also a Thomas Hardy thing, so maybe it was just what everybody was into?
