Every article, every image, and every piece of code generated by #AI is a potential legal and ethical risk. . . . AI can and will plagiarize content from others.

Basically, this is a situation where the user has all the risk but none of the rewards. AI-generated work can’t qualify for copyright protection, but it can infringe on other people’s copyright. Even if you properly disclose the usage of AI, you could still be plagiarizing other people. . . .

If you put an AI-generated work out under your name, you take all the risk that comes with that work. That can entail both legal and professional consequences depending on what the AI says or does. That should worry just about everyone using AI in this way.

Worst of all, it’s not a particularly easy risk to mitigate.
