By default, you can only receive DMs from people you follow.

If you want to receive DMs from everyone, you need to switch this option on:

1. Log into Pixelfed
2. Go to Account Settings
3. Go to Privacy
4. Tick the box marked "Receive Direct Messages from anyone"
5. Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the screen

(NOTE: Blocked accounts will not be able to send you DMs even if you switch on receiving from anyone.)

Hey @pixelfed #pixelfed some advice please? I joined an Instance yesterday and my first photo post was marked unlisted by default (for security) which is fair enough. It's SFW head shots. The notification says a human will review it.

How long should I wait? 😬

I'm learning more about #Pixelfed @pixelfed and have found #PixelfedAU an Australian instance. I see it doesn't have the 'sign in with Mastodon' feature? Is that still optional? In theory, could I sign in with the original or default instance using my Masterdon credentials and then move later?

I suppose I could just replicate my account there?
