PISTACHIO MAI TAI
¾ oz lime juice
½ oz falernum
¼ oz orgeat
¼ oz SC Mai Tai syrup
2 oz Blended Aged Rum ❸
float ½ oz Strato pistachio distillate
Garnish: spent lime shell, mint sprig
Method: combine all ingredients with 12 oz crushed ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake until a frost forms on the shaker and pour the entire contents into a double old-fashioned glass. Garnish with the spent lime shell and mint sprig, arranged like a tree on a little island.
My late entry for Mai Tai Day 2025 :) The Strato is a really delicate spirit with low sugar content that provides a pillowy-soft nutty flavor when floated, elevating the orgeat. The rum is a blend as follows:
- 1 oz Hampden Estate 8yr
- ½ oz Doctor Bird
- ½ oz Clairin Le Rocher
