Decanted for one hour-plus, served at 63º F / 17º C.

Certified as sustainable by Sustainable Wine South Africa (SWSA).

An opaque deep purple with thick, viscous legs. Nose of black cherries, smoke. Dry and pleasant on the palate. Curious dark fruit that I can only approximate with black cherry (a little blueberry comes in later). Bottle says mulberry. Also leather and slate. A slight bit of spice and vanilla. Plush medium tannins, soft with low acidity, bold and medium bodied. Fairly well-balanced. Blackberry and herbs on the long finish.

A nice introduction to Pinotage. I’ve been looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint.
