I've recently realized that I have spent my whole life almost compulsively learning new things. This doesn't mean I don't fritter away a day sometimes, but I just joined brilliant.com because I didn't do a lot of #math in school, so I'm starting with foundational stuff at about 6th grade level that I already know, and then working my way up because I want to understand #calculus and have never taken a course. I downloaded card #games like #canasta and #pinochle that I've always wanted to *learn* them, because my mom liked them when I was young. If I like them I will play with other people, if not, I'll delete the apps, but at least I will have learned how to play.
I read encyclopedias for fun when I was little and Wikipedia now. It's not that I'm particularly smart and know everything, I just always want to learn. Having the #information isn't the same as #understanding the world, but #learning things helps me put other things together, and helps me understand the world.
