Some soft evening lighting meant perfect conditions for getting new pictures of Nimona. As the blotches on her neck start coalescing into one solid dark sheath, and the peachy background colors get stronger on her face and tail, both sides of her parentage are getting more and more prominent and making for a very uniquely colored animal. And she’s still the curious, fairly quiet critter that her mom also is, so I have very little worry about fighting her over food responses as she grows up.

Winter is coming to an end, meaning all the temperate reptiles get their heat turned back on and can start coming out for handling.
Nimona here is the first to get handled again; she’s a hybrid black pine x bullsnake, and got the quiet demeanor of her mother with a lot of the color of her father (though she keeps getting darker so this could rapidly change). Like a lot of my snakes, she occasionally likes trying to burrow through my hair…
