Caput Mortuum is such a lovely deep violet brown pigment with heavy granulation, that I had to pair it with the also granulating Cobalt blue for most joy.

Yesterday's stream was full of color theory and exploration of limited palettes... with a teeny tiny landscape painting you see in the middle.

Although the colors are bright, they can be used to create beautiful muted mixes too. And painting lots of nature, it's what I enjoy.

I've been trying out a new to me brand of watercolors on stream yesterday and they were lovely. They also felt very unusual to me in the sense that even the staining colors lifted easily.

I need to explore this further of course... but it was something I noticed rightaway and a #pigmentnerd like me catches this early on. We'll see how this goes!

Played a bit with the new palette last week, discovering its possibilities. Right now I'm a lot in the mood to paint little, tiny really, landscapes. Each of these is about play card sized in real live. Still I feel like I managed to achieve some depth and glow.
While exploring, I also tried different techniques while doing so. Really neat!
