Our final #pleinAirpril for 2026 is a rather striking composition shot by @snehasisnama at the Don Mueang airport.

[ It's a really tall image; please do a full-view ]

Botched most of the fun details this time. I'm blaming being a "whole" week out of practice, and trying to draw the hyper-compresed Discord embed instead of the full image like a boomer! :D

Study based on a photo by @nepi

I fell in love with the colors, and it was nice to do something a little different!

Obligatory timelapse:

Wish I'd added more green to the mold on the wall, or just more color variation in general...

Tonight's virtual #pleinAirpril is a photo taken by @snehasisnama of an aging but charming old house on a Kolkata street.

...Closest we're getting to a real plein-air sketch, I suppose!

Obligatory timelapse. Managed to record one this time—

Third virtual #pleinAirpril is, I think, Moo Deng!

I wasn't planning on adding much detail to the water from the start, and that helped a lot with maintaining energy levels. I still kinda feel like I should've, though, the water looks too plain...

Finally broke out my pet favorite hatchwork brush, too!

Second photostudy for #pleinAirpril was Milou the dachshund, from: https://lemmy.world/post/45104255

Managed to not get overwhelmed by the grass and fur strands this time! Adorable doggo solves all problems!

...Good thing I'm too lazy to try to draw a live dog IRL!

Nichole Photo Study

I forgot how gorgeous looking a monochrome color tone can be. Most monochrome I ever run into are grayscale... and those I appreciate tremendously. But color monochrome hits differently than a grayscale does. There's an emotional undertone that can be encoded, which isn't as apparent in a grayscale. Imagine this piece as a red monochrome rather than blue... how would that feel to you?
