I forgot how gorgeous looking a monochrome color tone can be. Most monochrome I ever run into are grayscale... and those I appreciate tremendously. But color monochrome hits differently than a grayscale does. There's an emotional undertone that can be encoded, which isn't as apparent in a grayscale. Imagine this piece as a red monochrome rather than blue... how would that feel to you?

I had such high hopes for our first #pleinAirpril going in. Instantly got overwhelmed with detail, and gave up on how I was planning to tackle them. Even kept the undersketch, then rushed to the end.

Can't help but feel I didn't use to give in this easily a few years ago, especially after reposting a lot of them recently...
