Update on the #PhoneboxConference.
One call from a pal before I had to head.
Was so not expecting to find the #phonebox working that I wasn't prepared at all. Mobile almost flat.
If you'd still like a chance to call the Twatt phonebox, favourite this and I'll try to set up properly for Monday, prob around lunchtime BST.

Years ago, on another social media site, I used to run what I called a #PhoneboxConference. I pitch up at a classic red phone box and invite folk to call.
It's getting harder to find locations, let alone iconic ones.
So imagine my delight in finding one (the only?) working red #phonebox on Orkney.
And where? In Twatt, of course.
It's 4pm BST and I'm standing by.

A red telephone box/booth, likely a K6 kiosk, located near the harbor in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland, still stands a little weathered and worn.
From what I understood, it is the last one still standing in Ballycastle.

A disused red phonebox repurposed for displaying cheerful spring blooms in boxes. Some disused phoneboxes get repurposed as used-book swap boxes, or to hold a defibrillator, or as community notice boards. This one is at the town of Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. end April 2025.
