Nintendo announces Pictonico!, a mobile game that transforms your photos into minigames

Nintendo has revealed a new free-to-start mobile game, Pictonico!, which allows players to transform their own photos into quirky and chaotic minigames. Scheduled for release on 28 May for both Apple and Android devices, the game encourages users to select existing photos or take new ones to feature in over 80 playful minigames. These include a wide range of humorous and unexpected scenarios such as feeding a hungry boss, erasing awkward high school memories, reconnecting with friends while skydiving, or even plucking nose hairs. Users can save the resulting images and videos to their devices, sharing amusing outcomes with family and friends, all while maintaining privacy as no images are sent to Nintendo. A limited number of minigames will be available for free upon launch, with additional content offered through expansion packs, priced at $5.99 for Volume 1 and $7.99 for Volume 2. Fans have drawn comparisons to Nintendo's WarioWare series and Game Boy Camera, praising the game's light-hearted, humorous approach. Pictonico! follows the family-friendly Pokemon puzzle game Friends, with other mobile adaptations like Pokemon Champions planned for release soon. This release reflects Nintendo’s continued focus on mobile gaming experiences that combine creativity and personal engagement.
