The concept behind Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt’s Oblique Strategies, a set of 115 cards with elliptical imperatives designed to spark in the user creative connections unobtainable through regular modes of work, is now a commonplace. Every Barnes & Noble sells kits for breaking writer’s block—hell, you can even buy them in the form of playing dice with questionably useful words like “REDEEM” and “TRAP” on them. In 1974, when the original Oblique Strategies set was developed, it was a more radical intervention with roots in Eastern philosophy. In his college years Eno was fascinated by the Fluxus movement. Oblique Strategies was almost certainly inspired by George Brecht’s 1962 Fluxus work “Drip Music”: George Brecht produced this thing called “Watermelon” or “Yam Box” or something like that. Dass #Merz sich mit einem #PeterSchmidt aus #Gera (#MiteinanderstadtGera) austauschte, einem Unternehmer mit Verbindungen zur #Neonazi- und #Reichsbuergerszene, das ist ja bekannt. Auch nachdem der Tagesspiegel 2020 über Schmidt berichtet hatte, gab es ein weiteres Treffen 2021.
Kann er ja nichts dafür, wird jeder sagen, der war halt dabei, daran erinnern kann man ihn dennoch.

Oh, and as far as "go to an extreme, return to a comfortable space" #ObliqueStrategy that kicked it off, the deep orchestration and layering came in handy when it came to arrange the song and I could mix and match layers to keep things ever shifting throughout... dang, good advice Eno/Schmidt!

📌"Oblique Strategies" fue creado por #BrianEno y #PeterSchmidt en 1975. El primero es un compositor, productor y artista visual británico y el segundo es un diseñador gráfico alemán.
📌El juego se compone de un total de 105 cartas en su versión original aunque las nuevas ediciones las han
reducido a 99.
📌En cada tarjeta de recoge una idea que ha sido concebida para confrontar tu proceso creativo. Por ejemplo, alguna de las frases puede ser "Usa una idea de otro campo" o "Empieza del revés".
📌La regla de oro de este sistema es que estás obligado a poner en práctica la frase que has escogido y ver hacia dónde te lleva esta nueva línea de pensamiento💡
📌Se puede comprar "Oblique Strategies" en inglés pero es bastante caro 💸 yo estoy usándolo desde una app gratuita en inglés de la que te dejo enlace por si lo necesitas. No he visto estas tarjetas dispones en español en ninguna tienda. Si lo ves dímelo 😉
