Probably 10cm down already in Charlottetown, not much wind yet. I'm on a main street downtown and haven't seen a plow at all yet. Expect a snow day tomorrow. #PEstorm #pe_wx #Noreaster

#CoCoRaHS precipitation reports for #PEI as of 8:20am this morning, covering the past 48 hours of #hurricanelee. System just passing over western end of island now bringing steady rain but very little wind here in the woods. Thankfully no damage, just a few twigs (and my sunflowers RIP).

Wind has been up all day in Charlottetown, but hardly any rain. Might change after #HurricaneLee passes over the island. #pestorm #nsstorm #nbstorm
I feel really bad for the crows trying to fly back to their nests in the extremely high winds. Pretty sure some of them are going to wind up in a new postal code. #PEStorm

Alerts for: Queens County P.E.I. - Environment Canada

When severe weather threatens, Environment Canada issues alerts that notify those in affected areas in Prince Edward Island so that they can take steps to protect themselves and their property from harm. The type of alert issued depends on the severity and timing of the event. Special statements: issued to highlight significant weather or express uncertainty. Watches: alert you about weather conditions that are favourable for a storm or severe weather, which could cause safety concerns. Warning: an urgent message that severe weather is either occurring or will occur. Warnings are usually issued six to 24 hours in advance, although some severe weather (such as thunderstorms and tornadoes) can occur rapidly, with less than a half hours' notice.

Getting our first air quality warning for wildfire smoke on the Island this evening. Air quality advisories are not a thing here at all, I haven't seen one in 7 years here. #pe_wx #pestorm

#Today turned into another snow day. School bus couldn't get to my kids' stop, so I drove them to the paved road and the bus met them there, but then I couldn't get back up our road. It's exams so older kid wanted to be picked up by noon. That meant younger kid would be dropped off by the bus 1km from home in high winds, so he was picked up early as well. Van still didn't make it up the road. #PEStorm

The electric snowblower sure is struggling with this heavy wet snow. Got the job done but I had to clear jams in the chute every couple passes.

The snow is so wet it's blue on the bottom.
