AGI - A quarant’anni dall’uscita di 17 Re, uno degli album più iconici della new wave italiana, i Litfiba tornano con un regalo inaspettato: un singolo inedito che porta lo stesso titolo del disco del 1986. '17 Re' è un brano rimasto nel cassetto per quattro decenni, una canzone che la band aveva composto negli anni ottanta ma che, per ragioni artistiche e di percorso, non era mai entrata nella tracklist originale.
"Era attuale allora ma fu scartata, è attualissima oggi ed è appena uscita a gamba tesa 17 RE, contro tutti i King Kong che abusano del loro potere. Sempre dalla parte delle vittime degli abusi e per la Pace", scrivono i Litfiba sui loro canali social, rivendicando la natura politica e civile del pezzo.
La squadra dietro al nuovo singolo
Il brano vede riunito il nucleo storico della band, con una produzione che porta le firme di: Antonio Aiazzi, Gianni Maroccolo, Piero Pelù e Ghigo Renzulli. Alla batteria Luca Martelli, mentre le fasi tecniche sono state curate da: Francesco Felcini (registrazione), Matteo Cantaluppi (mix), Giovanni Versari (mastering).
L’art direction e l’immagine sono di Piero Pelù, la grafica di Valerio Bulla, le fotografie di Riccardo Bagnoli.
Il ritorno sul palco: Primo Maggio e tour celebrativo
Il compleanno dell’album 17 Re verrà celebrato con una reunion completa dei Litfiba sul palco del Concerto del Primo Maggio di Roma, lo storico appuntamento promosso dai sindacati per la Festa del Lavoro. Una presenza simbolica e potente, che anticipa un vero e proprio tour celebrativo.
La band infatti partirà con il tour “Quarant’anni di 17 Re”, che debutterà il 27 giugno a Perugia nell’ambito dell’Umbria che spacca festival. Tra le tappe principali: il 16 luglio – Rock in Roma, Ippodromo delle Capannelle, il 23 luglio – Firenze, Prato delle Cornacchie, il 15 agosto – Bellaria Igea Marina (Rimini), la data conclusiva.
Un percorso che riporta sul palco una delle formazioni più influenti del rock italiano, celebrando un album che ha segnato un’epoca e che oggi torna a parlare con forza al presente.

AGI - Forty years after the release of 17 Re, one of the most iconic albums of Italian new wave, Litfiba are returning with an unexpected gift: an unreleased single that bears the same title as the 1986 album. ‘17 Re’ is a track that remained in the drawer for four decades, a song that the band composed in the 1980s but that, for artistic and developmental reasons, had never entered the original tracklist.
“It was current then but was discarded, it’s incredibly current today and has just been released with great energy 17 RE, against all the King Kong who abuse their power. Always on the side of the victims of abuse and for Peace,” write Litfiba on their social media channels, reclaiming the political and civil nature of the piece.

The track brings together the historic core of the band, with a production that features the signatures of: Antonio Aiazzi, Gianni Maroccolo, Piero Pelù and Ghigo Renzulli. Luca Martelli plays the drums, while the technical phases were curated by: Francesco Felcini (recording), Matteo Cantaluppi (mix), Giovanni Versari (mastering).

The return to the stage: May 1st and celebratory tour
The anniversary of the album 17 Re will be celebrated with a complete reunion of Litfiba on the stage of the May 1st Concert in Rome, the historic event promoted by the unions for Labor Day. A symbolic and powerful presence, which anticipates a real celebratory tour.
The band will kick off with the “Forty Years of 17 Re” tour, which will debut on June 27th in Perugia as part of the Umbria che spacca festival. Key dates include: July 16th – Rock in Roma, Ippodromo delle Capannelle, July 23rd – Florence, Prato delle Cornacchie, August 15th – Bellaria Igea Marina (Rimini), the final date.
