Moving back to plain text files (Git-backed markdown) instead of using a self-hosted Bookstack instance for my personal memory/wiki has been very rewarding. The data feels much safer with less moving parts, and I've expanded the collection dramatically now that I can store code files in there too. Been meaning to write about it.

Spent the weekend reviewing my old Obsidian vault — articles, snippets, journals, all mixed together. Extracted the non-personal stuff into a public repo and polished the `MkDocs` setup so the site actually looks like a site.

Those who know me know that I am not a huge fan of academic writing and publishing. Hell, the term “to publish” has been entirely co-opted by for-profit journals to mean “to gatekeep”.

So, inspired by @gedankenstuecke, I am reclaiming the term by publishing academic(-adjacent?) work on my #PersonalWiki, in as non-academic (and non-awful) a writing style as I can get away with.
