@Wen Ireland is ahead of the UK on this. Our #HSE is in such #permacrisis that in #GalwayUniversityHospital the corridors are stuffed all year round with people on trollies. Winter crisis is when they run out of trollies.

Ireland has had 25 years of the heavily-privatised medical service that the UK's #NHS is being driven towards.

I'm fond of reading the letters to agony aunts, but rarely their replies. However, this letter probably sums up how most people, with an ounce of awareness about what's going on in the world, feel at the moment, that I felt compelled to read the advice.

And the advice quotes Voltaire and I think is very good:
