The next #TotalLunarEclipse (#TLE) will be on March 14, 2025, followed by a second TLE in September 2025 and another TLE in March 2026. When the #Moon goes dark is when we welcome the #TimeTravelers. #Eclipse types can also be #partial or #penumbral, but the best for #Krononauts is #total occlusion.
Walking my dog last night and thought the full moon looked a little lopsided. Turns out it was grazing the edge of the Earth’s shadow- I’d completely forgotten about the penumbral lunar eclipse!
(Also a shout-out to the #lightroom app’s camera- this was first time I’ve ever been able to get a properly exposed picture of the moon from my iPhone)
On Monday morning 3/25, beginning at 12:53 am in Westport, eclipse season begins with a #penumbral #lunar #eclipse. This is when the Earth's shadow moves across the surface of the #Moon. Maximum eclipse is at 3:12 am but this is subtle and you'll have to look close to see a difference. It *could* be even more interesting if the now subsiding #CME that arrived earlier than expected still shakes up the #aurora and it comes down to mid-latitudes.
