Luminaires Series 100 lamps by Yrjö Kukkapuro for Blond

Dezeen Showroom: designed as a lighting solution for his studio in the 1960s, Finnish furniture designer Yrjö Kukkapuro's Luminaires Series 100 is now available from Swedish lighting brand Blond.

Luminaires Series 100 includes spotlights, pendants, table lamps, floor lamps, wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted lamps.

The lampshades are made from aluminium and are available in cone and rectangular shapes.

"Kukkapuro's design work is based on both aesthetic and functional innovation, user experience and ergonomics," said Blond.

Luminaires Series 100 is designed to be adaptable. The lamp heads can be rotated and the floor lamp models have adjustable steel stands.

Kukkapurro designed the lamps for his own studio

Informed by reflectors and screens used by photographers, the series includes a round fibreglass reflector that creates indirect light.

Blond updated Kukkapuro's original lamp designs with modern technology to suit contemporary production.

Staggered Scandal Pendant by Articolo

Dezeen Showroom: lighting design company Articolo has created a pendant light named Staggered Scandal Pendant, which features three elongated glass elements made using a mouth-blown technique.

Articolo aimed to showcase luxurious craftsmanship, and the lamp's metalwork is available in brass, bronze, satin nickel and black electroplate.

"The Staggered Scandal Pendant is defined by elongated proportions capped end-to-end by the rounded glass, subtly concealing the internal light source and exemplifying the quiet brilliance of artisanal glass and detailed metalwork," said the brand.

Articolo created a custom-sized version of the pendant for a lobby space designed by Australian architecture and interiors practice Carr.

In response to the lobby's exaggerated volumes, the lamps were enlarged to over eight metres in length.

"Reimagined for this site-specific installation, in a feat of both design and engineering, a trio of pendants were made in Melbourne before being suspended 12 metres in the air at a weight of 170 kilos in solid metal and glass," said Articolo.

Colour collection lamps by Innermost

Dezeen Showroom: British lighting brand Innermost has released two of its popular pendant light models in a range of vibrant colours.

Originally available in black and white, the Hoxton and Chelsea lamps now come in pink, purple, yellow, dusky blue, forest green and olive.

"Ceiling lighting has always been a focus but customers are demanding ever more choice," said Innermost co-founder Steve Jones. "So we have launched not only new designs but greater choice across the ranges in colour and finish."

One of the lamps available in the new collection of colours is Hoxton, a curvilinear pendant with three angled surfaces.

Designed by Steve Jones and James Bartlett, Innermost describes Hoxton as having a "simple yet striking appearance".

The Chelsea pendant was designed to have a shape that resembles an upturned teacup, with light-emitting upwards as well as down.

Both Hoxton and Chelsea are available in a number of sizes to suit residential and commercial spaces.

Pivot PET felt adjustable lamp duo by De Vorm

Dezeen Showroom: Dutch design brand De Vorm has updated its bell-shaped Pivot pendant light, which is made from recycled PET felt, by connecting it to a second shade using a sleek aluminium rail.

The Pivot adjustable lamp duo consists of two felt caps that can be turned and tilted to tailor the direction of the light.

"Pivot started with the idea to create a lamp that is versatile in its expression as well as in use," De Vorm told Dezeen. "We always leave it to the architect to decide how the final product looks by making our designs customisable."

"With this new lamp, we also wanted to offer extra freeform in its application by incorporating a dynamic element into the design," the brand added.

The shades can be adjusted to point in different directions

The lampshades can be set in five different positions while suspended from the ceiling using steel cables and a transparent electrical cord that can reach up to three metres in length.

The Pivot duo has two dimmable light settings – warm white and neutral white – as well as 11 colour options for the felt shade, making it suitable for various interiors including offices, restaurants and social spaces.

While the rail is made from lightweight aluminium, the textured lampshade consists of a single piece of felt manufactured from recycled plastic bottles.

According to De Vorm, the material is "an answer to ecological sustainability and environmental quality requirements in contemporary interior design".

Dezeen Showroom: created by Halskov & Dalsgaard for Zero Lighting, the Slice pendant has sound-absorbing properties designed to suit offices and busy environments.

The Slice lighting fixture features a number of concentric discs covered in felt-like sound-absorbing fabric.

The pendant is available with either two, three or four circular layers, and each can be specified in a different colour to create an idiosyncratic design intended to match any interior.

"Slice literally creates a better environment, for both the eyes and ears, and adds character with its softly toned colour spectra," said Zero Lighting.

Its sound-absorbing properties make it good for offices or other busy environments

Slice is available in two sizes – the smaller with a diameter of 580 millimetres and the larger 800 millimetres – and has an LED light source. Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) controls are optional.

The non-woven polyester fabric, which has a subtle appearance, comes in 12 standard colour options and can also be ordered in custom hues.

Dezeen Showroom: designed by Johan Lindstén and Markus Johansson for Swedish brand Oblure, the Arch pendant lamp has a shape that nods to a classical architectural form.

The Arch lamp has a graphic presence formed by a repeatedly curving piece of tubular metal and is described by Oblure as "alluring and eye-catching".

Light shines down each of the pendant's seven pillars, and the lamp is available in a number of bold colours.

The standard colour selection includes black, white and cobalt blue in a high-gloss finish and nude in a matt finish. There are also custom hues available on request.
