My laser cutter pen plotter attachment is nearly finished, only issue now is that LaserGRBL assumes that a laser will turn off immediately and starts moving before the pen retracts 🤔

At least the problem is now software

Well the threaded rods don't work, scrap dowel and electrical tape will have to do until I can get to Bunnings to look for something better. Time for a test run!

I'm working on making a swappable pen-plotter head for my laser cutter. For the past few hours I've been working on the electronics and I've got something that should work but currently doesn't.

I'm too sleepy and sore to get the o-scope back on the floor to diagnose the problem, but I suspect it's either the diode or the resistor I used. Will have a look tomorrow.

This came out good. Took forever at 1cm/sec and drained four pens, but I'd do it again. Bonus, its a sticker. #penplotting

Still dealing with some slippage on the left idler, but it’s getting there. This is just the built in test, I’ll try to feed it some HPGL over the weekend.
