Bleeding time also improved after giving up walnuts, and the mouth sores went away, too.

This article on 'hit & run' autoimmunity triggered by walnut antigen causing pemphigus vulgaris was interesting - though in my case, symptoms resolved w/ discontinuation, so I guess I'm lucky -

This is my #dog Connor. He has an #autoimmune disease called #Pemphigus. His immune system is attacking his skin and he gets scabs and blisters. His #dermatologist is amazing, she put him on #Tacrolimus Ointment which is helping him so much. He has more hair now than he has had in almost two years. And we've been able to cut his medication in half. He was on a high dose of #methylprednisolone it was a wonder he didn't become diabetic. He is a happy boy! #DanishSwedishFarmdog #DogsOfMastodon

@Pajamazon @roxiqt Mine attacks proteins that hold my skin cells together. Before corticosteroids became available in the 1950s, this thing was apparently about 75% fatal. #pemphigus

Casper is in the background. He's only 4 months old and doesn't have a sit stay yet. Dreamer is the taller boy, he's a #Kromfohrlander and he had fun doing #DogAgility today. Connor is the other nicely sitting #Dog. He has an #autoimmune disease called #Pemphigus where his immune system is attacking his skin. But he's doing really well right now.
