I like #evilwm too. Did not know much about #pekwm though. When I tried it in VM I was very interested in the grouping feature like what #haikuOS provides. But it required the middle-button click of a mouse, even my thinkpad touchpad middle button would not work. Since I rarely usually use a mouse and depend almost solely on touchpad and keyboard comes with a laptop, I did not go further with it.
Felt like taking a screenshot of my current #pekwm theme. Quite satisfied with the look.

Found an obscure #Linux #distro #side that appears to be unique. That is, makes its own toolchain, which is what crazy from #frugalware said defines a base distro. Side uses #pisi package manager, #sysvinit and features #LXDE based #SDE with #pekwm or #openbox window manager.

These odd little distros generally help #inxi find and handle corner cases it had missed. In this case didn't have pisi pm/SDE handled.

Wish I'd noticed side before inxi 3.3.37 went out but this always happens.

The main reason that I stopped using terminal emulators with tabs was that I used a window manager with tabs (my first was #pekwm).

Suddenly a single window can have two terminal tabs and a pdf reader as the third tab.

Tiling window managers with tabbed containers are essentially the same concept.

Had some fun this weekend installing Spiral Linux (https://spirallinux.github.io/) Builder edition on my old MacBook Pro 11 with debian sid + pekwm (which is a new WM for me). I still enjoy doing these from-the-ground-up installs. Certainly beats grading or writing.

Added 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝟭 to FreeBSD Desktop – Part 4 – Key Components – Window Manager article about why I moved from Fluxbox to Openbox … or why I did not used PekWM. I them around 2010 and 8 years later they are still true.
