This was taken on a very cold December day. And was the first time I had had a hot rum toddy, in the restaurant behind us, to warm up from the very cold, damp Atlantic wind. In the same way that humidity makes heat more oppressive, it makes cold get to the marrow of your bones.

The granite ground is 375-million-yr-old granite and those huge boulders were left by a glacier that moved through and scraped the topsoil to its base about 12,000-yrs-ago, leaving the huge rocks behind as they melted and retreated.

So...the planet is going to be ok.

The traffic delays are being caused by two road projects happening at the same time. The province is paving #peggyscove Road and the #halifax municipality is paving a nearby section of St. Margarets Bay Road.
